About the Role

We are seeking a highly strategic and operationally focused Senior Director of Warehousing to lead the design, launch, and ongoing optimization of warehousing and material handling operations supporting a $1B refrigerated foods platform.

This leader will oversee end-to-end warehouse network strategy, including the development and startup of a flagship warehouse operation, while driving best-in-class execution across North American distribution sites. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in warehouse operations, SAP EWM, food-grade logistics, and large-scale operational transformation.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Design & Launch

  • Lead the design, implementation, and startup of new warehouse facilities supporting refrigerated food production and finished goods distribution
  • Define warehouse layout strategy including slotting, dock configuration, staging, and material handling equipment (MHE)
  • Oversee warehouse transition activities from design through go-live and operational stabilization
  • Ensure physical warehouse design aligns with SAP EWM capabilities and operational workflows

Warehouse Operations & SAP EWM Leadership

  • Serve as the business owner for SAP EWM across warehousing operations
  • Define warehouse organizational structures, process flows, and handling unit strategies
  • Drive execution of batch management, FIFO/FEFO inventory controls, RF scanning processes, and inventory age management
  • Partner closely with IT and external integrators to ensure SAP EWM serves as the system of record
  • Ensure inventory accuracy exceeding 99.9% while achieving operational safety, cost, and service targets

Operational Excellence & Compliance

  • Ensure batch traceability, shelf-life compliance, and regulatory readiness across operations
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost per pallet, order fill rates, throughput, and cycle time optimization
  • Promote operational standardization and process excellence across the organization
  • Establish and maintain SOPs, KPIs, training programs, and safety management systems
  • Champion a culture centered on food safety, employee safety, accountability, and engagement

Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Lead and develop high-performing warehousing and logistics teams
  • Partner cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Operations, IT, Procurement, and external stakeholders
  • Present operational updates, business initiatives, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership
  • Support resolution of material shortages and operational escalations as needed

 

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, or related field required
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in warehousing, distribution, manufacturing logistics, or supply chain operations
  • Proven success leading warehouse startup, implementation, or commissioning initiatives
  • Hands-on expertise with SAP EWM, including warehouse processes, batch management, and system optimization
  • Experience within food, beverage, dairy, refrigerated CPG, or highly regulated manufacturing environments strongly preferred
  • Deep operational knowledge of:
    • SAP EWM & Batch Management
    • FIFO/FEFO inventory management
    • Food safety, traceability, and regulatory compliance
    • Warehouse process optimization and technology integration
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all organizational levels
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management capabilities
  • Excellent communication and executive presentation skills
  • Proven servant leadership approach with experience driving transformational change
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments while maintaining operational excellence

  • Requires a hands-on leadership style with strong visibility across operations
