Our Client is seeking an experienced MRI Technologist to support a busy MRI department in a clinical setting. This role will be responsible for performing MRI examinations, ensuring patient safety, selecting appropriate imaging protocols, reviewing image quality, and providing accurate diagnostic imaging support..
Location: Atlanta, GA 30342
Job Type: Travel Contract – 13 Weeks
Compensation: $48 – $52 per hour
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, Friday/Saturday/Sunday, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
The ideal candidate will have recent MRI experience, appropriate professional credentials, strong knowledge of MRI safety and imaging protocols, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Review physician orders and pertinent clinical information to determine appropriate examination requirements.
· Screen patients for MRI contraindications and ensure compliance with MRI safety protocols before entering the magnetic field.
· Explain MRI procedures to patients and administer IV contrast when required.
· Select appropriate pads, coils, and positioning techniques based on examination requirements.
· Select and apply appropriate MRI protocols and scan parameters.
· Monitor and review images during examinations and adjust scan parameters as needed to ensure diagnostic-quality studies.
· Organize images and transfer completed studies to PACS.
· Enter applicable patient charges into the designated computer system.
· Perform minor MRI equipment maintenance and report equipment issues appropriately.
· Assist with training and orientation of new or assigned personnel.
· Maintain a safe MRI environment and promptly report unsafe conditions or equipment concerns.
Required Skills & Experience
· Minimum of 2 years of recent MRI specialty experience.
· Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology or accredited MRI program.
· Current AHA BLS certification.
· Required ARRT-MRI credential.
· Ability to work independently in a busy MRI environment.
· Prior travel assignment experience.
· Availability to work the required weekend overnight schedule.
· Strong knowledge of MRI safety, imaging protocols, and patient positioning.
Preferred Qualifications
· ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT (MR) registry.
· Minimum 1 year of MRI training and experience.
· Special Procedures or CT training/experience.
· Demonstrated knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy.
· CPR certification.
Additional Requirements
· This is a travel-only assignment; candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the assignment location.
· Floating is optional.
· No on-call requirement.
· Candidates must be available for the full 13-week assignment.
