About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Director of HR Operations to lead enterprise HR infrastructure, systems, and total rewards strategy within a fast-paced automotive organization. This leader will be responsible for scaling HR operations, driving transformation, and ensuring operational excellence across a complex and evolving business environment.
This role requires a strong blend of strategic leadership, technical HR expertise, and hands-on operational execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and scale HR Operations across the organization with a focus on efficiency, compliance, and scalability
- Oversee Total Rewards strategy, including compensation and benefits design and execution
- Drive HR systems strategy, including HRIS, payroll systems implementation, optimization, and integration
- Lead HR analytics, reporting, and data-driven decision-making initiatives
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, audits, and all applicable employment regulations
- Partner with executive leadership to align HR strategy with business growth objectives
- Build, lead, and develop senior-level HR teams in a high-performance culture
- Champion HR transformation initiatives in a fast-growing, dynamic environment
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or MBA strongly preferred
- Minimum 15+ years of progressive HR experience, with deep subject matter expertise in:
- Total Rewards (Compensation & Benefits)
- HR Systems (HRIS, payroll implementation, and optimization)
- HR audit, compliance, and operational governance
- Minimum 10+ years of HR leadership experience at Director level or above
- Proven experience leading HR Operations within fast-paced, high-growth, or transformation-driven environments (automotive or manufacturing strongly preferred)
- Demonstrated success scaling HR infrastructure in complex organizations
- Strong business acumen with the ability to operate strategically while maintaining hands-on execution
Work Environment & Location Requirements
- Must be based in or willing to relocate to the Charlotte, NC metro area
- This is a hybrid role requiring 4 days per week in the office, with 1 remote workday permitted
- Must be able to work in a collaborative, on-site leadership environment
