Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced WMS functional Manager to support the development of Day 1 business process user scripts for the Manhattan Warehouse Management System (WMS) implementation.
This role will focus exclusively on building user scripts based, reviewing/building business rules and exception handling, and cross-system workflow content, from existing design documentation — including user stories, functional design documents, and Level 3/4 process flows — to establish the foundation for downstream testing and training teams (SIT and UAT). The team member will ensure that the scripts accurately reflect the current state of understanding of warehouse operations and serve as a baseline for process validation and operational readiness.
Key Responsibilities
  • Review and interpret WMS user stories, functional design documents, and L3/L4 process flows to identify Day 1 operational scenarios across receiving, put away, pick, pack, shipping, and inventory management
  • Develop detailed business-facing user scripts that guide warehouse users through system-driven workflows, aligned to the defined end-to-end business processes
  • Ensure each script accurately represents core Day 1 functionality and is traceable back to documented business requirements and design artifacts
  • Collaborate with functional leads from different parts of the organization to confirm script content aligns with the agreed process design and Day 1 operational scope
  • Identify gaps, dependencies, or inconsistencies across design artifacts and raise clarification requests to functional leads
  • Deliver final user script package and supporting documentation as part of the Operational Readiness deliverable set
  • Provide structured input to facilitate future SIT and UAT teams, ensuring continuity and traceability of functional scenarios post-handoff
Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in warehouse operations and/or WMS implementations
  • Minimum of 3–5 full-cycle WMS implementations (preferably Manhattan)
  • Deep functional knowledge of order fulfillment, inventory control, receiving, put-away, and shipping operations
  • Proven ability to translate functional designs and process maps into clear, business-ready procedural documentation
  • Experience defining and maintaining L3/L4 process flows and warehouse business rules, or identifying where we should have rules to minimize downstream testing impacts
  • Familiarity with Manhattan WMS architecture and integration touchpoints with planning, procurement, and finance systems
  • Strong analytical and communication skills with attention to detail and structured documentation discipline
  • Ability to work independently in a multi-stakeholder environment with minimal supervision

  • Approximately 4 weeks, with potential extension, if the client requests
Location:
  • Remote with limited travel as needed
